NOVATEK discusses the purchase of Eni’s share in Severenergiya and expects a dialogue with Rosneft

The co-owner of NOVATEK Gennady Timchenko and the President of Eni Paolo Scaroni discussed the possible purchase of a share in Severenergiya (the JV of Eni (60%) and Enel (40%), holds 49% of the capital, 51% are held by the JV of Gazprom Neft and NOVATEK) and expects a constructive dialogue with Rosneft which announced it was going to buy the share of Enel.

“It would have been better if we had talked to Rosneft before they have announced any arrangements with the Italian company. However, the schedule of Igor Sechin it very tight and supersaturated, thus he had no opportunity to talk to us before the signing. Though, I hope that we’ll start a constructive dialogue with Rosneft soon and come to a mutually beneficial conclusion”, Timchenko said.
