"Gazprom" sacrifices the advance.

The partnership with China may delay its other projects.

For the demonstration of progress in negotiations on additional gas supplies to China via the western route "Gazprom" refused the attraction of an advance payment of $ 25 billion in the first contract from Beijing. According to the sources of "the Kommersant", the monopoly did not accept the crippling terms, relying on the discovery of the western market financing. But there are still no prerequisites for the improvement, and it means that "Gazprom" may be forced to develop a priority direction in the Chinese way to the detriment of other projects - the South Stream pipeline and the LNG plant.

"Gazprom" no longer considers the involvement of an advance payment worth $ 25 billion from China for the construction of "The Power of Siberia" pipeline, Alexei Miller stated yesterday during the visit of the Russian delegation to Beijing. The advance was "an element of price negotiations", but the parties "have reached a final agreement" and "are no more in talks on credit".
