MMK develops new roll stock production technologies

Within the frame of “Sila Sibiri” project realization Magnitogorsk Iron-and-Steel works in cooperation with the Volga Pipe plant (VTZ) and the Russian scientific-research Institute of Tube Industry (RosNITI) has developed a new technology for the output of flat rolled stock. MMK states about it.
The specialists of MMK and OJSC “RosNITI” have developed chemical composition, temperature-deformation rolling pattern and accelerated roll stock cooling strategy. Mathematic and physical modeling with further production experiment allowed VTZ to manufacture pipes from the flat stock, produced at MMK. The pipes have successfully passed field testing by the committee of OJSC “Gazprom VNIIGAZ”.
