BP Azerbaijan has stopped the work of an oil platform at the Caspian for scheduled maintenance

​BP – operator of development of the ACG block – today shut down the Chirag platform aiming for the scheduled maintenance.

Oil extraction from the platform is shot down for 25 days.

The scheduled works, inspection and project works necessary for the continuation of the safe, reliable and ecologically friendly operation of the platform will be held.

The program planning started in 2014 and these works are included in the annual program of works and budget. The platform’s shutdown is also taken into account in the annual extraction forecasts.

The extraction at the deposits Central Azeri, Eastern Azeri, Western Azeri, deep water part of Gyuneshli, Western Chirag and Shakh-Deniz, export by BTC, South Caucasus pipeline and Baku-Supsa go on in the regular mode. The Sangachal terminal will go on working. The loading at the port of Ceyhan will go on in conformity with the schedule.
