Court of Appeal left the decision of collection of 6.76 bln roubles from Mechel unchanged

​The Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal has rejected the appeal of Chelyabinsk metallurgical plant for the decision of the Arbitration Court of Moscow to collect 6.76 bln roubles in favor of Sberbank.

In July 2015 the Arbitration Court of Moscow made Chelyabinsk metallurgical plant and its guarantees Mechel, Mechel-Trans, Bratsk ferroalloys plant ad Mechel-Service pay 5.1 bln roubles to Sberbank (including 4.5 bln rubles of the main debt) by the agreement as of October 13th 2010 and 1.6 bln roubles (1.2 bln roubles of the main debt) by the agreement as of October 19th 2013.

As of September 1st 2015 Mechel’s total debt is $6.3 bln, 66% of this amount was issued by the Russian state banks Gazprombank, VTB and Sberbank.
