Gazprom: the Ukraine has reduced Russian gas purchase

Gazprom’s head, A. Miller, said that the Ukraine reduced gas purchase to 10 mln cubic m a day compared to the beginning of the month. Even at this low rate of collection of prepaid gas, the Ukraine will have enough gas for 4 days only, until November 14th, Miller said.

Kiev has done it because of the financial deficit of Naftogas, Miller said. Along with this the Ukraine reduces gas purchase from Europe.

From October 12th Gazprom renewed gas supply to the Ukraine. Miller said that the Ukraine asked for the maximum supply rate – 114 mln cubic m a day. In Q4 2015 the price of the Russian gas for the Ukraine is set at $228-232/thousand cubic m taking into account a $24.6 discount.

On November 1st A. Yatsenyuk said the Ukraine needs to additionally buy 5 bln cubic m of gas. There were 17 bln cubic m of gas at that moment. The country was issued loans for that purpose. Fuel was purchased for $250.

On November 5th Miller said that the Ukraine had transferred $24 mln of advance payment and it would be enough until November 10th. The next day Demchishin said the country would be able to pass the heating season without any problems and Kiev is ready for a possible shutdown of supplies.
