Zaporozhsteel to stop agglomeration machines for 2 months to connect a new gas cleaning unit

​Zaporozhsteel PJSC has started the final stage of reconstruction of the agglomeration plant.

On November 5th the plant shut down the agglomeration unit #3 to connect the main gas cleaning equipment. The next is the shutdown and connection of gas cleaning units of the agglomeration machines #4, 5 and 6. As a result all 6 agglomeration machines will be equipped with modern gas cleaning equipment by means of which the emissions of the agglomeration plant will fall to 45%. The total investment into the ecological modernization of the agglomeration plant will amount to more than 845 mln grivnas.

To connect and set up each gas cleaning unit, 2 months and a full shutdown of the agglomeration machine are required. Zaporozhsteel started the construction and assembly works on the installation of the gas cleaning unit in mid 2015. Large –scale construction works were held, the main equipment of gas cleaning units was installed at the agglomeration machines #3-4. Today about 90% of metal construction of the gas cleaning units #3-4 are installed.
