Contractor of Rosneft and Gazprom places security of Yamal-Nenets autonomous district in jeopardy

Major Yamal exploration and geological physical company Yamalpromgeofizika, the main customers of which are subsidiaries of Gazprom and Rosneft, has been accused of serious violations of the legislation on industrial safety. The company didn’t follow the safety of explosives at its warehouses, discharged hazardous substances on unlit areas. The security agencies have concluded that "explosive materials were stockpiled even in three rows on the floor, that is a direct threat of detonation". The apotheosis of the violations, identified by prosecutor’s office of the Purovsky district of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district, was the lack of adequate protection, and document analysis by the security forces revealed large shortage of explosives. The company doesn’t deny the accusations, but insists on the reduction of the fine, imposed for committing an administrative offense, "even though it got off cheaply". It could go to the stop of the company for 3 months, but the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage limited itself with the fine of 300 thousand rubles. However, the geophysics were not satisfied with the softness of the verdict and plan litigation.
