EU Commissioner states a positive dynamics between EU Commission and Gazprom
The 2-level negotiations between the EU Commission and Gazprom are not of political character, the EU Commissioner for competition issues, M. Vestager, said.
The EU Commissioner stated a positive dynamics in the negotiations between the EU Commission and Gazprom on the regulation of antimonopoly claims of the EU.
At the same time we discuss the obligations (Gazprom is ready to undertake so as to settle the claims in the framework of the antimonopoly investigation of the EU Commission) both at the technical and at my levels, M. Vestager said.
According to her, the 2-level negotiations between the EU Commission and Gazprom aim at meeting the EU legislation in the sphere of competition.
In December M. Vestager said that the EU Commission is open for Gazprom’s ideas on the regulation of the antimonopoly case.
The goal of the EU Commission is to eliminate the extreme difference in gas price, so Gazprom’s ideas on the future policy are accepted. If Gazprom makes concessions, in future it will allow us to reach our goals, M. Vestager said.
