BP plans to save the extraction of 2015 at Shakh-Deniz but might reduce APG shipment to Azerbaijan

​In 2016 BP Azerbaijan plans to save the level of gas extraction of 2015 in the framework of Shakh-Deniz-1 but might reduce APG shipment to Azerbaijan from the ACG block.

The head of BP in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, G. Birrell, said previously that the extraction at Shakh-Deniz in 2016 would stay at the same high level as in 2015 when we extracted about 10 bln cubic m of gas and 2.3 mln tons of condensate.

According to him, reliable gas supply is held from Shakh-Deniz to the markets of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey and condensate is exported by the BTC oil pipeline.

In 2015, 12.3 bln cubic m of gas were extracted at ACG.

In 2015 SOCAR shipped on average 9 mln cubic m of gas a day from ACG for free. The rest part of ACG was loaded into layers to keep oil recovery, Mr. Birrell said.

In 2016 BP will keep high rates of gas loading into layers at ACG.
