Total gas extraction from Shakh-Deniz in 2004-2014 made up 60 bln cubic m

​The total volume of gas extraction from the Shakh-Deniz deposit from the start of its development in December 2004 until the end of 2014 made up 60 bln cubic m, first Vice-President of SOCAR for geology, geophysics and development of deposits, Kh. Yusifadze, said.

“Within that period 15 mln tons of condensate were extracted from Shakh-Deniz”, Mr. Yusifadze said.

According to him, from the start of development of Shakh-Deniz, 4.5 bln cubic m of gas were exported to Georgia, 32 bln cubic m to Turkey.

The contract for the development of Shakh-Deniz was signed in Baku on June 4th 1996 and ratified by M. Medzhilis on October 17th 1996. The participants of Shakh-Deniz are: BP (operator, 28.8%), Petronas (15.5%), SOCAR (16.7%), «Lukoil» (10%), NICO (10%) and TPAO (19%).
