Russian LNG exports to Asia can harm pipeline gas sales to Europe

Russia should be careful in liberalization of gas exports, as the market is globalized and LNG supplies to one region can compete with pipeline gas in another region, the director of the department for eastern projects coordination of Gazprom, V. Timoshilov says. He explains that they were the situations when a tanker transporting LNG cargo is repurchased several times and redirected to another port. Europe buys alot of LNG and excessive supply in a region can compete with pipeline gas there.
