Russian Platinum wins court judgement against Norilsk Nickelto keeps its copper

Amur Miners’ Artel (Russian Platinum) legally won the tender for the development of the southern part of Norilsk-1 deposit, the Court of Appeal confirmed yesterday, having declined the complaint of Norilsk Nickel. Now Russian platinum has to make the Ministry of Natural Resources give the results of the tender to the government for approval. The government will most likely prefer to relaunch selling of the deposit. However, lawyers believe, Russian Platinum has a good chance.

Yesterday the Ninth Moscow Court of Appeal declined the complaint of Norilsk Nickel for the February decision of the court of original jurisdiction which authorized the results of the tender for southern part of Norilsk-1 nickel and copper deposit. In June 2012 Amur Miners’ Artel (Russian Platinum) won the tender.
