Gazprom to annually ship up to 2 bln cubic m of gas to Azerbaijan

​Gazprom will annually ship up to 2 bln cubic m of gas to Azerbaijan, “Gazprom export” reports.

Gas supply of Gazprom group will provide guaranteed loading of 100% of capacities of the Karaganda methanol plant. Gas supply to the final consumer in Azerbaijan is planned to start soon. The gas-purchase-and-sale agreement is a mid-term agreement.

The agreement was signed at the presence of the deputy chairman of Gazprom, A. Medvedev and head of Gazprom export, E. Burmistrova.

Meanwhile Gazprom purchases gas in Azerbaijan. In 2014 the purchase volume made up 219 mln cubic m.

Investors in the project of the Karaganda plant is “Azerbaijani methanol company” (AzMeCo) founded in 2007.
