Proposal of Ukrainian Minisrty of Energy to increase reserve stock of gas is illegal

Proposal of the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry to increase reserve stock of gas is contrary to the objectives of the Law "On the natural gas market", which shall enter into force on October 1, this year, president of the association "Gas Traders of the Ukraine" Andrei Mizovets says.

"The proposed rules on the establishment of the reserve stock are contrary to the objectives of the Law "On the natural gas market", which shall enter into force on October 1, this year. Under the Act, consumers have guarantee of uninterrupted and uniform supply of natural gas by creating a supplier of "last resort", on which the main responsibility for ensuring security of the supply of natural gas to corresponding categories of consumers should be laid,” - he states.
