The expert committee, organized by the non-governmental association “Sakhalin Environment Watch” with the assistance of the World Wildlife Fund of Russia, International Fund for Animal Welfare and the Pacific Centre for Environment and Natural Resources Protection, has carried out an examination of the project on a supply of oversize load to an offshore field Odoptu on the north-east of Sakhalin. The project of “ExxonMobil” and “Rosneft” has been classified as inconsistent with the requirements of the environmental legislation of the Russian Federation.
