Japan hasn’t asked Russia to construct a gas pipeline from Sakhalin

The Government of Japan hasn’t offered Russia to construct a gas pipeline from Sakhalin to Japan, a representative of the Management of Natural Resources and Energy of the Ministry of Economy, trade and Industry of Japan said.

Thus he commented the speech of Gazprom’s head, A. Miller, made o Monday in Beijing. From the part of the Government of Japan there was no offer upon the construction of the gas pipeline from Russia, the representative said. I can’t but be aware of the details, he said. But if such an important issue had been raised, it would have been discussed anyway at the intergovernmental level. But it didn’t happen.
