Gazprom demands Naftogas to settle its debt for gas

Gazprom has sent a letter to Naftogas Ukrainy asking to settle the debt for gas at the amount of $2.44 bln, the Minister of Energy of Russia, A. Novak said.
“Besides the Arbitration Court Gazprom is working on the collection of this debt. Gazprom sent a letter to Naftogas asking to settle this debt”, Mr. Novak said.
He said that the Ukraine doesn’t acknowledge the debt though all the bills were made in conformity with the existing contract. So the Russian party has the right to receive these funds.
The hearings in the framework of the Arbitration Court between Gazprom and Naftogas will be held not earlier than February –March 2016.
