The demand for steel in the CIS-countries to go down in 2014

Steel consumption in the CIS countries will go down from 2.5 to 1.5% in 2014. The head of the world’s largest metallurgical company ArcelorMittal Lakshmi Mittal said during the meeting with investors.
According to him, the political situation in the Ukraine has contributed to a significant drop of demand for steel in the country. So, ArcelorMittal has to refocus steel products, meant for domestic consumers, for export.
