South Stream Transport to sign a contract for laying the first line of the "South Stream" offshore section in March 2014.

Yesterday in Zurich (Switzerland) Alexey Miller, the Chairman of the Board of JSC "Gazprom", took part in the meeting of the Supervisory Board of South Stream Transport B.V., the Russian company's information management reported.

During the meeting, members of the Council welcomed the signing of the contract for laying the first line of the "South Stream" sea part, as well as a contract to supply pipes for the second line of the pipeline offshore section.

The contract for laying the first line will include, inter alia, the landfall construction work and the construction of technological facilities for the four threads of the offshore pipeline landfall in Russia and Bulgaria. The offshore section of the "South Stream" pipeline will consist of four threads, laid in a single corridor across the Black Sea at a depth of over 2200 meters. The length of each section will be more than 930 kilometers.
