Gazprom might offer Saipem to construct Nord Stream-2

​To cover the multi-billion gas due to the cancellation of construction of South Stream, Gazprom might offer Siapem (Italy) to construct Nord Stream-2.

The document might be signed in Saint-Petersburg in June 2016.

Thus Gazprom wants to cover the loss of Saipem caused by the cancellation of realization of South Stream.

Saipem assessed the loss at 760 mln euro.

4 foreign companies intended to participate in the construction of Nord Stream-2: Saipem, Technip, Allseas and Royal IHC.

Experts think the most likely winner will be Saipem as it constructed Nord Stream.

The company has experience and good relationships with Gazprom for which the company successfully constructed Blue Stream.

But the company faces problems with South Stream.
