Lithuania and Gazprom manage to agree about gas price for new supplies

Lietuvos dujos has reported about signing of an agreement on the reduction of the price of natural gas from Russia with Gazprom.

The contract became a result of long negotiations that finished with a compromise, which suited both parties. The solution agreed  provides for a change of pricing principle for the forthcoming long period.

The amount of the discount wasn’t reported. Previously, Lithuanian newspaper Verslo zinios reported about Gazprom’s readiness for 20% discount that reduce the price of 1 thousand cubic meters of gas to $370, but the company’s additional conditions didn’t suit the Lithuanian party. However, Lithuania doesn’t have other gas suppliers, but Gazrom, and the sale is provided on basis of long-term contracts.
