Surgutneftegas might purchase 19.5% of Rosneft – Bloomberg

Surgutneftegas might purchase 19.5% of shares of Rosneft which are planned to be put up for sale in the framework of privatization.

As a result Rosneft might have a partner which will help to refinance $23.5 bln of Rosneft’s debt with the settlement in 2015. It would be a good deal for the oil sector and for Rosneft it would have a recovery effect.

“The attraction of funds by Surgutneftegas will also weaken the influence on the budget while the Government is working out measures of supporting the Russian enterprises in the conditions of the first within 6 years recession”, Bloomberg says.

In November 2014 the Government of Russia ordered to privatize 19.5% of Rosneft. It presupposes the disposition of up to 2 bln 66 mln 727 thousand 473 shares of Rosneft not cheaper than the price of the IPO in 2006.
