Transneft to quit construction business

​Transneft has decided to quit the engineering business. The company will eliminate 3 affiliates which in 2013 replaced Transneftstroi, the largest contractor on the construction of ESPO-2.

By the decision of the company’s management, Transneftstroi-Bryansk, Transneftstroi-Omsk and Transneftstroi-Tyumen will be eliminated. Transneft said quitting the construction assets is a part o the company’s strategy.

3 companies being liquidated now held repair works at the Druzhba pipeline, construct the Zapolyarie-Purpe pipeline. 3.8 thousand people were employed at the company. The majority of them will be transferred to Transneft, they will hold repair and retooling works, the company said.
