The Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities contain less than 9 bln cubic m of gas

​The gas reserves at the Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities make up about 9 bln cubic m. From the beginning of May the Ukraine loaded 525 mln cubic m of gas.

As of May 12th the Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities contain 8.951 bln cubic m of gas.

From the beginning of 2015, 1.388 bln cubic m of gas were loaded into the Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities.

The Minister of Energy of the Ukraine, V. Demchishin, said that it is planned to accumulate about 19 bln cubic m of gas at the Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities by the start of the 2015-2016 heating season.

The Ukraine has announced that it plans to hold negotiations with international financial institutions on the attraction of funds for gas purchase and planned to settle this issue in Q3 2015. According to Mr. Demchishin, the negotiations are held with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and IFC and that it is about $0.8-1 bln. According to him, traders from Europe might help the Ukraine to load its underground gas storage facilities.
