In H1, Sakhalin decreased coal production to 1.97 million tons, the acting Minister of Energy and Housing and Communal Services A. Krupevsky says. They reduced coal exports from the region to 721,000 tons due to unfavorable ice state in the ports of the Uglegorsky district at the beginning of the year. The majority consumers of Sakhalin coal remain the APO states, Japan with 307,100 tons, China with 126,500 tons and Korea with 266,100 tons. Solid fuel is supplied to Kamchatka as well. The leading coal producer is Gornyak 1 Ltd that extracted 449,000 tons of coal versus the plan of 365,000 tons. The Ministry claims that the reduction in production in H1 2012 will have no negative influence on performing of the common plan. It will be compensated within the summer period that is favorable for production and navigation.
