Gonchar: Ban of Russian oil transit is senseless

The share of the Russian oil transit through the territory of the Ukraine in the total volume is only 7.5%, director of the Global Studies Centre Strategy XXI, Michael Gonchar said.

According to him, Transneft won’t suffer heavy losses, because, for comparison, the share of the Russian gas transit through the Ukrainian territory is 53%.

"Firstly, the termination of the transit of Russian oil through the Ukraine isn’t discussed," - he says.

In particular, head of the Ukrtransnafta’s representative office in the countries of Central Europe, Mikulas Rakovski denied the reports that the Ukraine was preparing a law to ban the supply of Russian oil to the west through the country.
