Severstal develops cold rolled steel production at Cherepovets metal works

The Cherepovets metal works has completed the realization of the project for the automation of the system for the management over cold rolled steel annealing that enables it to improve the energy efficiency of the process. Within the project, they upgraded the system for management over metal annealing in the bell-type furnaces with the use of the modern automation system. The active management system is accompanied with the mathematic models of HeadMod and SteckSet improving the annealing process. While the first month since completion of the project (July), they increased capacity of the bell-type furnaces by 6% and reduced expenses to electric energy by 148,000 kW/h and to gas by 191,000 cubic m.
