Subsoil of Eastern Siberia to attract China

Practice of joining of Chinese companies to projects on development of deposits, which become a resources base for supplies to China, is quite diffused not only in Central Asia. Recently CNPC bought 20% in the Yamal LNG project from Novatek – raw materials from this project will be also supplied to China. Petrochina expressed its desire to invest $10 billion in gas fields of Gazprom and Rosneft in Eastern Siberia.
At the same time, the Chinese company surely considered fields in Yakutia, as well as in the Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk regions that would be able to become a resource base for gas supplies to China after the completion of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline construction. Among these fields are the Chayandinskoye, Kovyktinskoye, Yurubcheno-Takhomskoye and Sobinsko-Paiginskoye. Gazprom hasn’t disclosed its plans of cooperation with Chinese in this format.
