Lukoil doesn’t plan to take part in auction for five oil blocks in Sudan

Lukoil doesn’t consider possibility to take part in the auctions for the licenses to develop five oil blocks in Sudan, which is planned to be held in December, a representative of the largest Russian private oil company reported to the agency Prime.

“At present, we don’t consider projects with our participation in Sudan,” – he said.

Earlier, the Oil Minister of Sudan, Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz reported that Russian companies also could be interested in the scheduled auction. At the beginning of October, during the press conference at the RIA Novosti office, Al-Jaz stated that members of the Sudan’s delegation negotiated with representatives of the Russian Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Natural Resources, as well as with a number of Russian oil, gas and service companies, including Gazprom and Lukoil.
