The launch of Bozymchak gold project to be postponed until Q1, 2015

“Kazakhmys Gold Kyrgyzstan” LLC (part of KAZ Minerals Plc (former Kazakhmys Plc)) has postponed the launch of the processing plant at the gold-copper deposit Bozymchak (Kyrgyzstan) until the first quarter of 2015, director of the State Agency for geology and mineral resources of Kyrgyzstan D.Zilaliev. said.

According to him it is due to technical problems. “There carried out start-up operations now and the launch is planned for early 2015,” he said.

As it was stated before, the construction of the plant was finished by early September. The projected capacity of the plant makes up 1 million ton of ore. The concentrate will be supplied to the Balkhashsky copper plant (Kazakhstan), where they will produce 39 thousand ounces (1.2 tons) of gold, 200 thousand ounces (6.2 tons) of silver and 7.3 thousand tons of copper.
