The second LNG plant will be constructed at Yamal. It will be LNG-2, which will work on basis of the Salmanovskoye (Utrennee) and Geofizicheskoye oil and gas condensate fields. They are located at Gydan. Novatek will be engaged in this large-scale project. This company bought licenses for these sites development in September of 2011.
The plant construction was approved by the Russian Government. At the suggestion of the Energy Ministry, the corresponding changes were made in the plan of the liquefied natural gas production at Yamal. In the next two years, a location for the LNG-2 plant at Yamal and pipelines routing will take place, including at the Gulf of Ob.
