Production of associated gas stably increases in Kazakhstan
Production of associated gas stably increases in Kazakhstan, the country’s Ministry of Oil and Gas reported to the Trend on Friday.
“By results of 2013, the production of gas by the republic’s oil and gas companies made up 42.3 billion cubic meters that is over 5 times exceeded the gas production level in 1991,” – the Ministry reported.
At the same time, 90% of produced gas in Kazakhstan is associated petroleum gas. A part of produced associated petroleum gas - about 30% - is reinjected into reservoirs to maintain the formational pressure. About 15% is used for the country’s technological needs, electricity generation, and a small part is burned. Commercial gas makes up about 55% of the production.
