Russia strengthens its world leadership in oil production
Last year, Russia produced more oil that it expected. According to forecasts of the country’s social and economic development, the oil production was planned to be 510 million tons. But the volume of extracted black gold grew by about 5 million tons last year. Alpari’s analyst, Anna Kokoreva speaks about reasons of the success:
“We managed to achieve this due to increasing production of oil and gas companies – such as Rosneft, Bashneft and Gazpromneft. Rosneft’s production was increased due to Samara deposits and the fields of Eastern Siberia, like the Vankor and Verkhnechonskoye ones. Bashneft increased its extraction rates due to start of the oil production at the Trebs and Titov fields. Gazpromneft also increased the oil production due to its Orenburg assets, the Nagaurskoye and Zapolyarnoye fields”.
