By 2015 the demand for galvanized flat-rolled steel in Russia may be about 7 million tons, with a polymer coating - 6 million tons.

The main types of the protective coatings are and will remain in the long view zinc and zinc-based alloys having anode protection, as well as a variety of paints and coatings. In Russia, the need for sheets with a zinc coating expands. By 2015, it could reach about 7 million tons, including paint coatings - about 4 million tons, which can largely be met by domestic production. It is predicted that more than 80% of the metal will be used in the construction industry and about 20% - in the automotive industry.

Assessing the long-term development of the housing construction and the construction of cultural, sport, shopping facilities, development of the agricultural sector, which are based on low-rise buildings fabricated using light thin steel -walled structures and galvanized metal, and outline the development of car manufacturing, household appliances, machinery and packaging sector the consumption of galvanized rolled steel can be increased by 2020 to 10-12 million tons, and by 2030 - to 20 million tons. The consumption of prepainted steel in the same period may be increased to 6 million tons, and in the future - up to 10 million tons.
