The EU has no formal reasons to oppose Turkish Stream

The European Commission has no formal reasons to oppose the construction of Turkish Stream, but for political reasons it is interested in maintaining transit through the Ukraine, said the Russia's permanent representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov.
"The European Commission shouldn’t have formal reasons (to prevent Turkish Stream). Obviously, a certain factor is a purely political interest in maintaining the transit through the Ukraine," - said Chizhov on the margins of the conference of the Valdai Club on European energy security.
