Russian division of Sika increased sales by 7% in Q1

The Russian division of Swiss chemical company Sika, specializing in development and production of materials for the construction, increased the sales by 7% in the first quarter of 2016 as compared with the same period last year, the company reports.

Despite the difficult economic situation, in particular, the devaluation of the ruble, the main positive factor for the company was the fact that Sika Russia reached the required profits, the report says.

The company explains that it managed to achieve such result by optimizing costs and increasing the sales of Russian production. In addition, a significant increase in the sales was observed in the segment of "Industry" – the 88% growth, in the segment of "Adhesives & sealants" - the 26% growth, in the segment of "Repair & Concrete Protection" - the 6% growth. In all other areas, the sales volume remained stable as compared to the same period of last year.
