100 mln tons of oil extracted at North-Variegan deposit
Varieganneft PJSC extracted the 100-millionth ton of oil at the North-Variegan deposit from the start of its operation in 1971, Rosneft reports.
The area of the Yu1 layer – the main object by reserves – makes up 330 sq km. 29 beds have been discovered at the production layers, 24 of which are oil and 5 gas condensate. The remaining recoverable oil and condensate reserves of the North-Variegan deposit make up over 80 mln tons, gas – 61 bln cubic m.
One of the main mature deposits of the company is characterized with the complicated geological structure and inhomogenuity of production layers. Or its development specialists of Varieganneftegas apply modern technologies of extraction intensification such as sidetracking with multi-stage layer hydrofracturing. A stable daily extraction is about 1.2 thousand tons of oil and 1 mln cubic m of gas.
The level of extraction of scavenger reserves with low location level increased at the deposit. The results of the tests have confirmed their perspectives. Specialists of the company hold analysis of the layer which will allow to see its geological model and determine the criteria of its development. On the basis of the acquired data the plan of further development of the deposit will be made.
