Analysts admit that Bashneft to be divided among several investors

Rosneft may take part in privatization of Bashneft, if equal market conditions are created. This was stated by spokesman of Rosneft Mikhail Leontiev in an interview with the Kommersant FM. Earlier the Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said that he saw advantages in such transaction. However, according to him, Rosneft is not the only bidder for a controlling stake of Bashneft. Among the potential buyers are Lukoil and Independent Oil Company of Eduard Khudainatov. Also, the Government doesn’t rule out the possibility that the package may be divided among several investors. The problem is that the terms and conditions of the Bashneft sale are still not clear to anyone, Mr. Leontiev said.

"All major assets, especially in Russia, which come on the market, must be considered by us from the point of view of the company’s interests, but the main thing here is a rule,  on which these assets will be sold. We would agree on absolutely equal transparent market conditions. We need fair play, we, unlike some of the companies, let's not point them, didn’t buy anything on non-market terms. We would like to be treated not exclusively, but at least on an equal footing with the other parties, which don’t always show the same degree of market and transparency, as we do. Analysts conclud that the level of debt that we now have returned to the level prior to the purchase of TNK. We have perfect performances, no problems," - said Leontiev.
