Decision on OPAL might be found in the framework of Nord Stream-2 – head of OMV

​The decision by the use of capacities of OPAL might be found in the framework of realization of Nord Stream-2, OMV’s head, R. Sele, said.

We finally need to make a decision on the use of OPAL’s capacities. I am sure we will manage to come to the agreement in the framework of Nord Stream-2. The German regulator made a correct decision having approved the excluded this gas pipeline from the Third Energy Package. Unfortunately the EU Commission has a different opinion, he said.

Speaking about the perspectives of Nord Stream-2, Sele mentioned the need of Europe in the Russian gas.

“Europe needs the Russian gas. I can’t see any alternatives in the short-term and long-term perspectives. This decision is the decision of companies-importer but not politicians”, he said.
