Uzbekneftegas decides against upgrading of the underground gas storage of Gazli due to diversification of export

Uzbekneftegas has decided not to upgrade underground gas storage at the Gazli field in the Bukhara region due to the diversification of  gas export routes, a source, who is close to the project, reported on Friday.

“In connection with the decrease of the export to Russia and the increase of the gas supplies to China and the construction of the corresponding infrastructure, the holding company found the upgrade of the underground gas storage economically unreasonable,” – the source reported.
