Kazakhstan. The expansion of the Shymkent oil refinery postpones the construction of a new plant until 2035

The gradual increase of the processing capacity of the Shymkent oil refinery will enable it to meet the growing demand of the domestic market of Kazakhstan until 2035. Ministry of Energy states.

“The further gradual increase of the processing capacity of the Shymkent oil processing plant will be able to meet the growing demand of the domestic market. The increase of the capacity by three million tons after 2022-2024 will be able to provide Kazakhstan with light oil products up to 2035,” the press-service of the department states.

The updating of the oil refineries is carried out in the republic at present. They will be finished in 2016, Trend writes.

Within the period from 2017 to 2022 the country’s requirements for Euro-4 and Euro-5 compliant light oil products will be satisfied in full
