Zhezkagan copper smelting plant has renewed production after a year’s shutdown

The Zhezkagan copper smelting plant of “Kazakhmys” corporation has renewed the output of final products after a year’s shutdown – cathode copper, the company’s press service reported. By the efforts of the company’s specialists the furnace was launched and the equipment was put into operation. The preparatory works on the launch of the enterprise lasted for 2 months, is said in the press release.

At the present time the Zhezkagan copper smelting plant is fully ready for operation. The enterprise will reach the same capacity as before the shutdown – 100 thousand tons of cathode copper a year. The plant’s personnel and salaries are the same. About 1,500 people are engaged in the production process.
