Small oil companies want to be independent

Small oil companies try to attract the state’s attention to their problems. They ask for preferential tax treatment within a special status “independent oil companies” that supposedly should help them to double their production by 2030. But experts are sure that granting of benefits to small oil companies will only strengthen the current trend of their purchase by large companies, the Kommersant writes.

Association of independent oil and gas organizations (AssoNeft) and the Skolkovo’s Energy centre have designed a program on stimulating the development of the independent oil companies in Russia. According to the AssoNeft’s Head Elena Korzun, the program is planned to be considered together with the Ministry of Natural Resouces and the Ministry of Energy before the end of this month.
