Alternative routes of oil supplies to China don’t satisfy Rosneft

This year, Rosneft must find a way to deliver 3.5 million tons of oil to China. They were to be supplied through the Skovorodino – Mohe oil pipeline, but the timing of its expansion was failed by China. Transneft offers two options - either via Kazakhstan, or via its Meget terminal in the Irkutsk region and further by rail. But Rosneft doesn’t find it good enough. It hopes to export oil as in 2015, by via the most cheapest route - through the port of Kozmino, surpassing other Russian oil companies.

In 2016, Rosneft will increase its oil export via the Skovorodino - Mohe pipeline – the bend from the pipeline system Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean (ESPO) - from 16 million to 16.5 million tons, said vice-president of Transneft Sergei Andronov. He specified that 15 million tons of them would be delivered under the first contract of Rosneft with China dated 2010, and other 1.5 million tons would be delivered under contract dated 2013 for the supply of 5 million tons more. Therefore, Rosneft must export 3.5 million tons of oil more to China. In 2015, these volumes were supplied through the port of Kozmino.
