Belarus and Russia haven’t agreed on a discount for gas

Belarus and Russia haven’t agreed on a discount for gas, the deputy Minister of Energy of Russia, A. Yanovsky, said after the meeting with the participation of the Vice-Prime Ministers of the two countries, A. Dvorkovich and V. Semashko.

According to him, Belarus suggested not a certain discount but a definite rate.

The only buyer of Gazprom’s gas in Belarus is its 100% affiliate “Gazprom transgas Belarus” OJSC. Since 2008 the gas price is calculated quarterly by the formula taking into account the indices of price change for gasoil and grease oil (from 2013 this formula is fixed by the intergovernmental agreement). In Q3 2015 the contract price made up $142.32/thousand cubic m.
