Karelsky okatysh has started the development of a new open-pit mine

Karelsky okatysh (kostomushka, Karelia) has started ore extraction at the 5th open-pit mine Northern-3. The new mine refers to the South-Korpangsky deposit, its reserves make up 28 mln tons of ore, project capacity -1.7 mln tons a year.
Besides the Northern-3 mine the company develops the Western, Central, Southern and Northern-2 open-pit mines. In 2015 Karelsky okatysh extracted 48.380 mln cubic m of rocks and produced 10.624 mln tons of pellets.
