Russia not to ship gas via the Ukraine from 2019
Russia is likely to turn away from gas transit via the Ukraine after 2019 and the existing transit contract will not be prolonged, the Minister of Energy of Russia, A. Novak, said.
A. Miller said just now that the existing contract will not be prolonged. Due to that all efforts are directed for the realization of the construction of the gas transport infrastructure to Turkey, border of Turkey and Greece and gas supply to consumers in the South-Eastern and Central Europe by this route, Mr. Novak said.
The construction of the new gas transport infrastructure as well aims for the diversification of transit risks which the country currently faces.
“I think the issue of turning away from gas transit via the Ukraine is likely to be settled”, A. Novak added.
