Rosneft supports BP

By results of last year, BP plc received 80 billion of the revenue from its stake in Rosneft. And the British company can receive about 17 billion rubles as dividend. However, according to experts, BP would cooperate with Rosneft, even if it wasn’t not profitable – The British are interested in Russian resources, and first of all – in the shelf one, and only state-owned companies have access the shelf.

Despite Western sanctions, British BP was able to benefit from its cooperation with Rosneft. According to the Bloomberg, BP received 22% of its revenues (adjusted earnings before taxes) from its stake in the Russian company. This is the best result since 2013, when BP became the owner of 19.75% in Rosneft.

The share in Rosneft, according to the Bloomberg estimates, gave BP 80 billion rubles, which is by 8 billion rubles more than in 2014.
