Reconciliation of India and China to hasten Russian turn to Asia

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will go on a tour around Asia, the mainly stage of which will be visit to China and talks with Chairman of China Xi Jinping. Mr. Modi is going to achieve a breakthrough in relations with China, complicated by territorial disputes. If this happens, the main obstacle to economic integration in Eurasia will be removed that will give Moscow new arguments in favor of the idea of ​​the triangle of Russia-China-India. On the eve of his visit to China, Narendra Modi spoke with Vladimir Putin, confirmed his readiness to participate in the SCO and BRICS summits in Ufa.

A telephone conversation between the Indian Prime Minister and President Vladimir Putin took place less than a day before a three-day visit of the Prime Minister Modi in China, which starts today. According to the Kremlin’s press centre, the Indian leader confirmed his participation in the forthcoming BRICS and SCO summit in Ufa in July, and also discussed with Mr. Putin the issues of expanding Russian-Indian privileged strategic partnership. Over a matter of days before Vladimir Putin received President Xi Jinping in Moscow: by results of the summit, more than 30 agreements were signed.

Now Narendra Modi, who came to power in May 2014, will play his "Chinese game". Before the election he promised to be as unyielding in the territorial issue with China, as it is possible. Asia waited for a new war of nerves and balancing on the brink of armed conflict along the so-called Line of Control of 4 thousand km length (it serves as an official border for the two countries after the war of 1962, which ended in defeat of India).
